Internship Description:
Join our dynamic team at Coffee N’ Comics as a Full Stack Web Application and Mobile App Development Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing a cutting-edge platform for our coffee shop. You will work closely with our experienced development team and contribute to designing, developing, and deploying a full-stack web application and mobile app. This internship is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to enhance their skills in application development while working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Assist in designing and developing a user-friendly, responsive, scalable, full-stack web application and mobile app.
- Write clean and efficient code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of the application to ensure high-quality performance and functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web and mobile app development.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
Complete milestones that the current team is engaged on. This is to be determined leading into the internship.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘25 semester
- Summer ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some understanding of web and mobile app development principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Some experience in at least one front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and one back-end framework (e.g., Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails).
- Familiarity with mobile app development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery.
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and RESTful API integration.
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Schedule is flexible and can be determined in collaboration with the hiring manager.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
