Job Description: Warehouse Worker / Cable Assembler
A Warehouse Worker / Cable Assembler will be assigned a core work area and is required to be cross-trained and able to fulfill business needs in all areas of the Distribution Center. We are looking for a dedicated team player who is quality and solutions oriented.
- Responsible for receipt, fulfillment, packing and verification of all customer orders and/or assembly of cables.
- Perform multiple (some non-routine) tasks that in many cases require judgment and accuracy in fulfilling customer orders or receiving shipments or assembling cables.
- Capable of being certified and operating powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) and other warehouse equipment (pallet jack, hand carts, etc.) in a safe manner.
- Must be able use computers for shipping/receiving/inventory control functions to prepare paperwork/labels.
- Support the required business area based on daily demand.
- Adjust easily with changing priorities.
- Use organization and precision with inventory control in receiving and shipping.
- Offer support in Quality Control checks/verifications as needed.
- Adhere to standard operating procedure and department operating procedures.
- Practice good housekeeping and work safely is a must.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and raw materials shipments.
- Operate a bench crimp and a heat gun, position and align cables according to specification for crimping. Ability to accurately measure cables to the exact specified inch.
- Work efficiently and use proper time management to accomplish work assignments.
- Package small and large power inverters, cables, batteries, and other power sources. Organize and tag parts with appropriate labels.
- Stand for 2 to 3 hours before a break.
- Locate appropriate parts for shipping and/or place shipments received in proper locations.
- Lift, bend and move at waist level, above the shoulders and below the knees; up to 10Ibs continually and occasionally up to 50lbs. Climbing of step ladders.
- Push and pull frequently up to 25Ibs. Frequently is defined as up to 66% of time in a regular shift
- Reach above shoulder level up to 50% -100% of time in a regular shift
- Repetitive hand movements (both hands) include picking & packing orders or receiving shipments
- Stringent guidelines must be followed to ensure product integrity is maintained while in transit and during storage
- Other duties as assigned within scope of job abilities and skills and/or for training purposes and/or to support warehouse operations at any capacity.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or GED. Previous warehouse / production experience. Forklift experience and Haz-Mat shipping experience with certification a plus.
