Summary:

Arts for All Nevada is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Reno that offers a variety of quality fine art classes to the public, implements art programs in the schools, and responsibly stewards the historic Lake Mansion as a community center for the exploration of arts and culture.

An Arts in Education Internship position is being considered to help restructure and standardize our lesson plans, gain mentorship from experienced Teaching Artists during classes/camps, and aid in the planning/setup of events at our facilities. This position requires roughly 20 hours per week, dependent on the needs of the organization and the schedule of the individual under consideration.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use a template to transfer existing lesson plans into a standardized format
  • Use the Nevada Academic Content Standards to ensure the validity of our curricula
  • Shadow and assist Teaching Artists during summer camps.
  • Help maintain teaching and supplies spaces, including organization and inventory.
  • Gather supplies needed for upcoming classes, and learn lesson planning strategies from artists.
  • Other administrative tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a small non-profit preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience working with children and some classroom management.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to use office equipment (printer/copier, paper cutters, shredder, etc)
  • Interest and appreciation for the arts and education.
  • Willingness to learn, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Internship start date is June 9th, 2025, and runs through August 8th, 2025. Suggested hours: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

This is an unpaid internship opportunity. Interns can attend any of Arts for All Nevada’s classes for free, and can bring one guest to any class for a discounted rate. Class attendance will be dependent on space availability in our classes.
