Large Language Model (LLM) Architect Intern (Pack STEM, Saatvik Advisors, Summer 2025)

About Saatvik Advisors: 

We offer cyber & internet security services to SMB clients. We offer Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Services and the global transition to the new IP addressing protocol IPv6 in compliance with federal requirements. We also participate and contribute to global internet governance and policy forums. We develop risk assessment and mitigation strategies for managing a company's intersection of cyber & internet security. 

  

We are developing a methodology for behaviour based systems analysis. We were the first Northern Nevada company to be invited to participate in ZeroLabs Innovation Launchpad, sponsored by GOED & UNLV for this product.

Our founder is a globally recognized writer and speaker in IP addressing. She was a panelist in UNR's 2024 Cybersecurity Conference. She is leading the world's only behaviour based research into the transition to IPv6. She is a former Board Director for Momentum for Health. She holds an MBA from Santa Clara University. She also serves on UNR's Nevada for Excellence in Disabilities Community Advisory Committee and is increasingly active in legislation benefiting the visually impaired as well as internet infrastructure. 

 

Internship Description: 

  • This internship will lead our effort to evaluate, prepare and ingest data provided to them by the Data Architect Intern into large language models. 
  • They will collaborate with the Data Architect Intern to select necessary data with guidance from the supervisor. 
  • They will collaborate with the Data Architect Intern to define unique data relationships. 
  • This role will be expected to recommend LLM strategies and tools and provide a business justification for their choices. 
  • This role will be able to communicate in written, verbal and graphical their methodology and results. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Complete 360 hours of work as an intern (32-40 hours per week, 12 weeks total) 
  • Make LLM tools recommendations. 
  • Evaluate unique data relationships in collaboration with the Data Architect Intern. 
  • Create visual mapping of data relationships in collaboration with the Data Architect Intern. 
  • Lead effort to ingest data into the LLMs. 
  • Stretch goal: Calculate and estimate performance of ingesting available data into LLMs. 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

  • Develop initial LLM(s) from available data. 
  • Develop a business case for their effort and choices. 
  • Document in written, visual and graphical form their methodology and findings. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno after the Spring ‘25 semester  
  • Spring ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program 
  • Exposure/knowledge of LLM concepts. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of LLM tools. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of database technologies. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of data architecture. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of defining data relationships and mapping. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of data integrity strategies and design. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of graphical/visual presentation tools (ie, PowerPoint) 
  • Exposure/knowledge of building a business case for justification of methodology. 
  • Exposure/knowledge of the OSI Model. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Work experience/practicum with LLM concepts. 
  • Work experience/practicum with LLM tools. 
  • Work experience/practicum with database technologies. 
  • Work experience/practicum with data architecture. 
  • Work experience/practicum with defining data relationships and mapping. 
  • Work experience/practicum with data integrity strategies and design. 
  • Work experience/practicum with graphical/visual presentation tools (ie, PowerPoint) 
  • Work experience/practicum with building a business case for justification of methodology. 
  • Work experience/practicum with the OSI Model. 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern: 

  • The intern will work the number of hours allocated by the internship program. The intern will have the flexibility to schedule the work around their academic schedules (if applicable). 
  • Applicants may be available to attend business or startup events, based on their interest. 

 

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 360 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
