
UI/UX Design Intern (Pack STEM, LionDragon Studio, Summer 2025)

About LionDragon Studio:
LionDragon Studio supports the Reno entrepreneurial community. We design and develop software prototypes and proof-of-concept software applications for startups or corporations seeking to innovate. We offer software and graphic design as a service.
Internship Description:
The UI/UX intern will work with software engineers and artists to develop responsive mobile-friendly layout wireframes for iOS apps and webapps. They will build wireframe prototypes for new projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 360 hours of work as an intern (32-40 hours per week, 12 weeks total)
- Discuss design vision with project owner and convert into layouts
- Translate artistic and interaction requirements into engineering-friendly templates.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
By the end of the internship, the intern will be proficient in Figma and will have accumulated experience translating artwork to engineering. We expect interns to continuously communicate (i.e., if they are blocked or have questions), to remain professional at meetings, and to remain organized.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno after the Spring ‘25 semester
- Spring ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Experience using Figma or Canva (or similar) for layout design
- Understanding of principles of design and human computer interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Experience designing graphics
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator.
- Experience with Swift UI.
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Applicants must be available to work at least 30-40 hours a week. Applicants can schedule work with their team flexibly at the office any day of the week between 8am-7pm. We prefer weekly workdays to be contiguous.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 360 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
