Description: The Athletic Trainer coordinates, supervises and administers athletic training services under the direction of the team physician and in conjunction with the Activities Director. The Athletic Trainer provides services to prevent, assess and rehabilitate injuries to student athletes, acts as liaison between the school district and health care providers, and maintains accurate records pertinent to students’ participation in athletics, their injuries, and treatment programs.
The Athletic Trainer is charged with providing care and treatment to athletic teams in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. Must be CPR certified and hold certification in Athletic Training. This position works cooperatively with an assistant Athletic Trainer to provide coverage at practices and events that are associated with the high school, as well as the Metro Conference and events sanctioned by the NSAA.

Education: Master’s Degree
Certification: CPR Certified and Certification in Athletic Training
Experience: Provide care and treatment to athletic teams

Salary: The school district pays based on a Negotiated Pay Scale determined by degree and years of experience.
Benefits: PLCS pays 100% of the healthcare premium for employee only PPO insurance plans and all high deductible plans. PLCS pays 93% of the premium for all other PPO plans. Through the Nebraska School Employees Retirement System 9.78% of the gross salary is deposited into a retirement account. The District matches the contribution at the rate of 101%.
