• Provide crisis, individual and group interventions as appropriate
• Consultation services to faculty, co-team members, parents and other appropriate parties regarding the socio-cultural and emotional factors impacting on the student’s learning experiences
• Diagnostic assessment services for students needing initial evaluation or reevaluation within allowable compliance of certifications and licenses
• Provide counseling services on all cases where social work services are recommended
• Conduct professional development/training and workshops for teachers, administrators, parents, and other school personnel
• Develop and coordinate school-community partnerships that includes school-based and school-linked services
• Development and implementation of intervention and prevention programs that will assist at-risk students
• Participation in problem-solving initiatives in the school environment to support student success
• Guides problem-solving, the development of positive behavior supports, and the alternative behavioral placements of students
• Attends State and District meetings and participates in District Leadership Team as assigned by the Special Education Director
• Comply with State and Federal regulations
• Assist the team in interpreting information provided by the parents from outside providers
• Assist in the development and implementation of classroom management and mental health programs and interventions designed to provide appropriate educational opportunities for all students
• Maintain case files and reports to track student problems and progress and to recognize patterns in behavior
• Once issues or behavior problems have been identified, assist in remediation by providing counseling, treatment plans or workshops as permitted by State and Federal regulations
• Analyze information gained through record reviews and interviews to determine environmental impacts and appropriate resource needs; integrate gained information into a written report and oral presentation
• Maintain records and strict confidentiality of sensitive information
• Attend and participate in Manifestation meetings
• Assist in the screening and classification of students with disabilities prior to the development of the IEP and placement of students in programs
• Assist in developing IEPs for students with disabilities
• Perform related work as required
