Emergency Medical Services Instructor

TITLE: Emergency Medical Services Instructor – Full Time

LOCATION: Sackett Technical Center with initial assignment at
Jefferson Community College Extension Site, Lowville, New York

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide instruction exploring careers in Emergency Medical Services. Duties include:
• Collaborating with colleagues to integrate academics, literacy, and technology with high school emergency medical services careers
• Preparing students for continued education for careers in the emergency medical industry
• Networking with fire departments, ambulance services, and the hospital setting to establish and monitor student rotations in the various departments
• Meeting / planning with local industry advisory committee for continuous improvement of the program
• Preparing students for success on the National Registry and/or NYS Emergency Medical Technician Certification exam.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess NYS Certification in Emergency Medical Services; Dual Certification in an academic area preferred or eligibility for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests. CIC: Certification Instructional Coordinator designation required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: $52,249-$59,314. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association.
