Intern – Tax & Accounting


Position Summary
Edmonson Bullard & Co. is seeking an Intern to join our accounting and tax practice. This position is designed for a student or early-career candidate pursuing a degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field and interested in gaining practical experience in public accounting.
 

The Intern will work closely with other team members to assist with tax compliance, accounting projects, financial statement preparation, and general client service matters. No prior public accounting experience is required. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, eager to learn, and interested in developing technical and professional skills in a collaborative firm environment.
 

Responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation of individual and business income tax returns.
• Assist with tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and data entry.
• Help organize, review, and summarize client-provided information.
• Assist with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation projects.
• Perform basic tax and accounting research under the supervision of firm professionals.
• Communicate with team members regarding project status, open items, and information needed from clients.
• Assist with administrative and special projects related to tax, accounting, and client service.
• Learn and apply firm procedures, professional standards, and best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information.
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
 

Required Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Interest in public accounting, tax, accounting, or advisory services.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time, follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
• Professional attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• No prior public accounting experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Coursework in accounting or taxation.
• Interest in pursuing the CPA credential.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or similar small business accounting platforms.
• Prior office, administrative, bookkeeping, or customer service experience.
