Trading Assistant

About the Role:

Tahoe Capital Group is looking for a sharp, hardworking Trading Assistant to join our fixed income trading desk. You will start by providing the administrative and trade support that helps our desk and group run efficiently. Under the direct mentorship of senior management, you will learn the nuances of trading secondary fixed-income products (bonds). The goal is an accelerated apprenticeship where you earn your licenses, develop the skills and decision making necessary to transition to a Junior Trader role.

About Us: Tahoe Capital Group is a startup FINRA registered broker-dealer. We trade fixed income products with other institutional market participants such as broker/dealers, institutional customers, insurance companies, banks, and other sophisticated market participants. We are currently implementing our trading systems and will be trading in early fall of 2026.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor real-time activity across fixed-income markets and our specific holdings. Provide insight and feedback to senior traders.
  • Desk Support: Help manage day-to-day operations to ensure the desk and office run efficiently, from reviewing market data, to helping with trade issues and executive support.
  • Data & Systems: Help develop and maintain databases and reports that drive decisions. You will play a key role developing these systems and enhancing our trading workflows and functionality.
  • Strategic Projects: Take on ad-hoc projects that involve analyzing trade data, workflow, and market conditions to help refine our process and execution.  Growth: Once licensed (SIE, Series 7, 52, and 63), you will begin working directly on the desk, executing trades and managing positions within various fixed-income sectors. What You’ll Bring
  • Make smart decisions: You have the ability to find the "action items" within large datasets, market activity and to do lists.
  • Tech: You are highly proficient in Excel. Experience with Python, SQL, or other programming tools is a plus but mostly you are willing to learn.
  • Hard work: We operate in a high-energy environment. Our team is small and everyone is working together. You should be a self-starter who is proactive in solving problems and making decisions. You are willing to make the phone calls, follow up and figure out solutions. There are great tasks, tough tasks and things that just need to get done.
  • A good attitude and solid work ethic: We are a small group of dedicated people. Life is too short to not enjoy your work and the people you do it with. We work as a team and support one another.  Morning Person: We work east coast trading hours and start at 5:30 am.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree - tell us how your degree made you better.
  • Experience: We are willing to train the right person if they have the attitude, intelligence and the drive to work and learn. We want to know about all of your work experience. Big and small.
  • Licensing: You will be expected to study for and pass the SIE, Series 7, 63, and 52 exams quickly. We will provide the support and resources to help you achieve this.
