At Smiling with Hope Pizza, in Reno, NV, our goal is to create a friendly, family-style environment and culture while serving some of the best pizza in Northern Nevada. We provide dine-in and lunch options six (6) days per week.  Current positions are part-time, additional hours available for interested staff.   

Smiling with Hope Pizza is looking for a skilled and passionate Pizza Chef to join our team to make delicious, eye-appealing pizzas based on our recipes.  Resume must reflect name, location and dates of documented pizza-making experience for verification.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for customer satisfaction by preparing high-quality pizzas in our highly rated pizzeria using our quality control standards.

Pizza Chef responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and hand-stretch dough to create the perfect pizza base, ensuring consistency in size and thickness.
  2. Facilitate customization of pizza toppings according to customer preferences, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas in different styles, such as New York, Sicilian, and cauliflower, using traditional techniques and equipment.
  4. Monitor oven temperatures to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to run service efficiently and on time during peak and non-peak hours to manage walk-in and call-in orders.
  7. Monitor ingredient quality and freshness, ensuring the use of the highest quality ingredients.
  8. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices at all times.

Pizza chef required skills

  1. Proven experience as a Pizza Chef with a deep understanding of pizza-making techniques and the ability to consistently create high-quality pizzas.
  2. Strong knowledge of dough preparation and pizza assembly, including the ability to hand-stretch dough and create visually appealing pizza presentations.
  3. Proficiency in working with a stone deck pizza oven ensuring optimal baking conditions.
  4. Excellent attention to detail to ensure each pizza is accurately prepared according to customer specifications.
  5. Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  7. Proficiency in managing ticket preparation times when facilitating walk-in, dine-in and call-in orders.
  8. Must have excellent front facing, customer-focused attitude
  9. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Required qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Formal culinary training or relevant certification is preferred.
  3. Proven experience as a Pizza Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  4. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  5. Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects, such as pizza trays or boxes of dough.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and special requests in a professional and friendly manner.
