Recreational Classes Gymnastics Coach

Do you love working with kids? Do you have a kids-first attitude? Are you eager to work with a family-friendly, exciting company? You're ready to work at High Sierra Gymnastics! Our program has been in the same location for over 40 years. We are looking for excited, happy, and fun gymnastic coaches. Experience is not required; we will train you to become a recreational gymnastics coach.

Job includes but is not limited to:

Daily:

  • clocking in and out at the computer time clock
  • sitting with children as they come into class waiting for start time.
  • starting class at the start time.
  • warming up the children for 10-15 minutes.
  • training kids ages walking - 15 years old in gymnastics. Age groups are Parent & Me: walking - 2 yrs. Preschool: 3 - 4 yrs. Beginning classes: Boys or Girls: 5 - 7 yrs., 8+ yrs.
  • you will receive training and a lesson plan for training the class.
  • talking to parents about their child's progress after the class.
  • making sure each and every child in your class has been picked up by a parent or guardian.
  • putting attendance into the computer.

Other expectations:

  • Being involved in special events, i.e weekend afternoon birthday parties, base rate of $60.00 per birthday party, Monthly Kids Night Out (normally Saturdays), National Gymnastics Day (in September), Halloween Sleepover (Friday Nevada Day - Saturday), Winter Showcase (normally February).
  • getting kids excited about gymnasts and having fun coaching it.
  • attending monthly staff meetings.
  • being a team player
  • helping cover other coaches who may need coverage

Other Information:

  • There are no full-time positions.
  • The gym is open in the morning 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
  • The gym reopens for classes at 3:40 PM
  • Classes in the evening go until 7:45 PM

Salary is based on experience. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour. Once you are trained and coaching your own classes, the hourly rate goes to $17.50 per hour.
