Communications Intern
The Communications Intern will support content creation, community engagement, brand storytelling, and internal communications. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in healthcare, wellness, marketing, public relations, social media, or startup environments.
You'll help translate complex healthcare concepts into clear, engaging content while ensuring our voice remains approachable, evidence-based, and aligned with our mission.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing content for social media platforms, newsletters, blogs, and community communications
- Draft and edit written content that reflects the Design Wellness brand voice
- Support podcast promotion, launch communications, and special campaigns
- Help manage and engage with our online community
- Conduct research on industry trends, wellness topics, healthcare news, and competitor communications
- Assist with public relations outreach and media opportunities
- Help create presentations, marketing materials, and educational resources
- Monitor engagement metrics and provide insights on content performance
- Support internal communications and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Health Sciences, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable receiving feedback and working in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in healthcare, wellness, nutrition, mental health, or behavior change
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools
- Self-starter who enjoys both creative and administrative work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Canva, HubSpot, Circle, Zoominfo, or similar platforms
- Basic understanding of wellness communication
- Experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content
- Photography, video editing, or graphic design skills
