Position Information:
The Program Assistant provides staff support to a program, division or department; and performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of full-time experience assisting with program development and/or program coordination; OR research, evaluation, and/or revision of programs; OR conducting studies, research, and analysis of administrative and management concerns; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

ABOUT THE CURRENT VACANCY WITHIN THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE:
This position supports the executive leadership team and assists with recruitment coordination, onboarding, personnel file maintenance, and employee communication while ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, timely and confidentially. The Program Assistant also supports the Fiscal Compliance Officer by preparing purchase orders, processing accounts payable, reconciling procurement cards, tracking grants, and assisting with financial reporting and documentation.
The ideal candidate is a detail oriented, collaborative professional who builds strong relationships and delivers exceptional customer service while handling sensitive HR and fiscal matters with discretion in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff across the organization. By handling key administrative, HR, and fiscal tasks, the Program Assistant supports department operations while maintaining a strong awareness of organizational goals and compliance requirements.

The Ideal Candidate at the Juvenile Services Department:
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced juvenile justice environment requiring professionalism, analytical skills, adaptability, and the ability to appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information. This position supports administration and operations involving court processes, youth services, and community partners, and requires comfort working within a regulated and accountability-driven setting.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities while collaborating effectively with probation staff, supervisors, external partners, and the public. Experience in a justice-related, social services, or youth-serving environment is highly desirable.
The Ideal Candidate at Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH):
- Experience with grant-funded programs, including one or more of the following: grant writing or support, budget monitoring, contract administration, and/or compliance with funding requirements.
- Familiarity with public health policies, regulations, and public health data systems, including experience using data to inform program decisions, track performance measures, or support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, present information to diverse audiences, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
