Role
We are seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our Human Resources Team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources Department with day-to-day operations and special projects. This hands-on internship offers exposure to various HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, training and development, HR administration, and compliance. This role will collaborate closely with the HR team, gaining practical experience in a professional environment while contributing to meaningful initiatives that enhance the workplace. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about human resources, eager to learn, and ready to take on diverse responsibilities. The contributions of this role will directly impact the success of the HR team and the overall employee experience within the organization. The role is based at our Reno, NV office and reports to the Senior, Human Resources Business Partner. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Post job advertisements on job boards and social media platforms.
- Screen resumes and application forms to identify prospective employees to fill company job vacancies.
- Schedule interviews with potential candidates.
- Support the onboarding process, including preparing orientation materials and assisting with new hire paperwork.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
- Assist with HR-related documentation and compliance tasks.
- Help organize and maintain employee files.
- Contribute to ongoing HR projects and address ad-hoc requests.
- Provide general support to the HR team as needed.
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in human resources.
- Must have the ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is a plus.

Work Schedule and Duration of Assignment:
The incumbent works a 40 hour/week schedule, primarily from Monday through Friday. The role is planned as a summer internship with a duration of approximately ten weeks.
