Residential Electrical Engineer
Holm Electric is seeking a Residential Electrical and Systems Engineer to join our growing team in-office at our headquarters (this is not a remote position).
This role is focused on engineering residential electrical infrastructure and equipment connections — from service and panel layouts to load calculations, lighting, HVAC, generators, and integrated technology systems. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and has the desire to learn, grow, and step into leadership.
You’ll collaborate with project managers, installers, and designers to create accurate, code-compliant engineering documents that guide the successful execution of residential projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer residential electrical infrastructure, including service entrances, panels, sub panels, branch circuits, and grounding systems.
- Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing to ensure code compliance and system reliability.
- Engineer and document equipment connections for lighting, HVAC, appliances, backup generators, and integrated home technology.
- Develop construction drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
- Coordinate with project managers, sales, and field teams to ensure designs are build-able and efficient.
- Apply NEC, local codes, and industry standards to all engineering work.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Stay current on residential technologies and prepare for advancement into leadership roles.
- Work daily from the office to ensure strong collaboration across departments.
