Opportunity 

The Chewy Campus Recruiting Team is seeking a motivated Area Manager I Intern to join our Operations / Fulfillment Centers in either Jessup, PA, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Dayton, OH, Reno, NV, or Belton, MO. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while driving strategy in a fast paced, high volume, operations-based environment. Our interns demonstrate ownership of their work and drive results throughout their internship program. While fine-tuning emerging people leadership skills, you will strengthen your eye for business. You play a meaningful role in developing new strategies and crafting process improvements to deliver on Chewy’s promise of outstanding customer service. This internship will give you an opportunity to help us be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents (and partners) everywhere!   

 

The Experience 

Our undergraduate Area Manager internship is a hands-on 10-week opportunity to put your classroom knowledge, passion for operations management and intellectual strive to work in a multifaceted environment that encourages your input. Your contributions will greatly increase efficiency, improve safety, and ensure best practices across our fulfillment enterprise as we serve the world’s best pet parents. You will work side-by-side with our business leaders who are passionate about supporting your development and changing the way America shops for its pets. Over the summer, you will be challenged to both think strategically and work cross-functionally with peers, senior leadership, and support departments to provide thoughtful, comprehensive, and forward-thinking recommendations directly to Chewy leadership!  

 

What You’ll Do 

Act as an owner by taking ownership for meeting and exceeding established efficiency, safety, labor, and quality objectives 

Think big by supporting the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions 

Operate at depth while working with other teams to extract, transform, and analyze data from sources across the business using a variety of technology platforms 

Analyze and tackle problems at their root while simultaneously stepping back to understand the broader context, while considering how those decisions keep our customers first 

 

What You’ll Need 

Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s degree program, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027  

Validated leadership experience through a combination of prior work experience, internships, college athletics, campus programs, or military service 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills at the tactical and strategic levels 

Strong project management and continuous improvement skills 

Ability to lift up to 49 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation 

Ability to stand and /or walk for up to an entire shift 

Current permanent U.S. work authorization required  

Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from June 8, 2026 – August 14, 2026   

 

The hourly range for this role is $23.00.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
