About the Role
High Rock Security agents work festivals and live events with a focus on community engagement, de-escalation, and safety. This role supports vibrant event spaces while helping attendees feel safe, respected, and welcome. Much of our work supports the music festival industry, with events scheduled throughout the season in Reno, NV. You will be working a variety of posts, which can include bag check, access points, perimeter posts, stages, crowd management, administrative support, troubleshooting, and more! This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

Much of our contracted work supports the music festival industry, where we work alongside dynamic individuals from all walks of life. We focus heavily on community engagement, ensuring participants feel welcomed, safe, and reassured, while also requiring creative thinking and thoughtful problem-solving.

What to Expect
- Contracted, part-time, event-based role (with the exception of growing demand)
- 24-hour security coverage with morning, swing, and overnight shifts
- All new hires begin under the Agent 1 position (prior experience may accelerate agent levels)
Logistics & Environment
- Agents must provide their own transportation and be able to walk to and from assigned posts
- For camp-out events, agents must provide their own camping gear/accommodations or arrange lodging and transportation (HRS Camp Onsite Always Provided)
- Agents must be self-sustainable throughout events (a small amount of snacks and water is provided)
- Expect to sleep through noise and work in changing weather conditions including heat, wind, dust, rain, and cold
Onboarding Process
Applicants apply through our website and receive an email to schedule an interview. After completing the interview process, onboarding paperwork and a welcome email are sent.
Guard Card Process
- Applicants with a valid Guard Card are eligible for scheduling after onboarding
- Applicants without a Guard Card complete our in-house Guard Card process, including a 3-hour Zoom class, guided application and fingerprinting steps, and a 2–4 week processing period
Once a Guard Card is issued, security agents become eligible for event scheduling.
We also provide in-person “High Rock Way” training at larger events to integrate de-escalation and harm reduction with state-required curriculum.
Requirements
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Obtain and maintain a valid Security Guard license for the state in which they work (may be referred to as a Guard Card or Work Card), including any additional training required.
Abilities & Expectations
Security agents must be able to:
- Observe and report
- Patrol on foot or stand guard at fixed posts
- Use a two-way radio
- Remain observant, situationally aware, and professional
- Work with minimal supervision and communicate clearly
- Resolve issues positively and de-escalate tense situations
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, punctuality, and preparedness

Stay off personal cell phones unless using work-related applications
Job Functions
Security agents will generally:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment
- Enforce client policies and maintain public visibility
- Investigate and report unsafe conditions
- Document incidents and submit reports
- Assist with emergencies, evacuations, and crowd control
- Attend site-specific training and maintain assigned equipment
- Work collaboratively with team members, management, and external agencies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
