Wildlife Biologist

Cedar Creek Associates Inc. is gearing up for our 2026 field season, and we are looking for wildlife biologists to assist with monitoring and inventory projects throughout the western U.S. Our field season runs roughly from March through September, with flexibility in start and end dates. Compensation will be based on experience. The western states where we operate include, but are not limited to, Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Idaho, Arizona, and Utah. Travel is required; the company pays for all travel expenses. Some weekend and evening work is required. 

Types of Projects:
Migratory bird surveys and ground-based nest searches
Desert tortoise surveys
Small mammal trapping and identification
Snail and/or benthic invertebrate collection
Bat roost searches
Amphibian and reptile visual inventory

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree obtained or in process in the field of Natural Resources, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Biology, or an equivalent degree.

Avian biologists must be familiar with avian species identification in the West, especially throughout the Great Basin.

Prior field experience preferred. This job requires hiking and backpacking through rugged country; you must be able to lift 35 pounds and hike with day pack multiple days in a row.

Must be able to adhere to scientific protocols, health and safety guidelines, and have effective communication skills.

Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license. 

Location: Preferably based in Colorado or Nevada, but we are open to your being based in other western states. Travel will occur to other states.
