Youth Lead Counselor
Youth Lead Counselors (YLCs) will serve as camp counselors for two primary program offerings: Youth Leadership Summit (ages 15-17) and Summer Basecamp (ages 11-17). During the three weeks of Summer Basecamp, YLCs will serve as the primary counselors through a week full of recreational and social activities in addition to providing spiritual mentorship for youth participants. During the four weeks of Youth Leadership Summit (YLS), YLCs will act as leadership mentors for participants, create and facilitate leadership workshops, and support general camp operations while YLS participants shadow Day Camp Lead Counselors, acting as Jr. Counselors. There will be one week of camp with no direct Youth Camp program running; therefore, the YLCs will either support kin-dom camp, a camp for youth within the LGBTQIA+ Community (ages 12-17), or support general camp operations. The focus of this position is to provide a space for all campers to experience God in new ways, build meaningful relationships with peers and adults, and experience the fullness of Creation, all in a nurturing environment.
