Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the educational development of preschool to pre-K students in various classrooms, working closely under the guidance of trained preschool and pre-K teachers. This role includes facilitating small group activities, providing a nurturing environment, and stepping in as a substitute teacher when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist preschool and pre-K teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support the educational and social development of children aged 2-5 years. 
- Facilitate small group activities, encouraging student participation and engagement.
- Help create and maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Supervise children during free play, outdoor activities, and transitions between activities.
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and interactions, providing feedback to lead teachers.
- Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Substitute for teachers when available, leading classroom activities and managing student behavior.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive learning community.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with preschool or pre-K children in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under the supervision of lead teachers.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children.
