Business Development Intern (TRU Venture Marketing, Pack Intern, Spring 2026)

TRU Venture Marketing is a dynamic and growing advertising agency specializing in lead generation advertising on platforms such as Google, Instagram, and Facebook.  

  

We help sales-oriented businesses build their lead pipeline through data-driven ad strategies, innovative campaigns, and highly targeted ad placements. 

 

Internship Description: 

TRU Venture Marketing and its apartment marketing division Lease Engine help brands and properties grow through strategy, data, and advertising. As a Business Development Intern, you will directly support the revenue operation of our organization by sourcing and qualifying leads, executing targeted outreach via email and phone, and managing datasets for our AI-driven outbound engine. This role provides hands-on experience with modern sales tools and processes, plus exposure to business development strategies in multifamily marketing and other industries. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Complete 150 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week) 
  • Research and source prospective leads across target industries using online tools and databases 
  • Conduct outbound email campaigns and follow-up calls to qualify leads and set meetings 
  • Compile and maintain lead lists in Excel/Google Sheets, ensuring data accuracy and completeness 
  • Scrape and organize datasets for outreach using approved tools while adhering to privacy guidelines 
  • Operate our AI-driven outbound engine to personalize and automate outreach at scale 
  • Track outreach metrics (e.g., email opens, responses, call outcomes) and report on performance 
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to refine outreach messaging and strategy 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

  • Develop fundamental lead‑generation skills and become proficient with our email and AI outreach platforms. 
  • Meet weekly outreach goals (e.g., number of emails/calls sent, qualified leads generated). 
  • Maintain well‑organized and accurate lead databases in spreadsheets or CRM tools. 
  • Learn to interpret outreach analytics and suggest improvements to messaging or targeting. 
  • Demonstrate initiative, persistence, and professionalism in all interactions with prospective clients. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate OR graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring ‘26 semester  
  • Fall ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program 
  • Coursework in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfortable making phone calls 
  • Proficient with Google Sheets/Excel and quick to learn new software tools 
  • Organized, disciplined, and self-motivated with high attention to detail 
  • Tech-savvy and eager to grow in a sales and business development environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or lead generation 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and/or sales outreach tools 
  • Basic knowledge of web scraping or data sourcing techniques 
  • Interest in AI-driven marketing and automation technologies 
  • Excellent time management skills and a drive to exceed targets 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern: 

Approximately 12 hours per week with flexibility during standard business hours; hybrid arrangement based in Reno, NV; set schedule can be adapted around academic commitments. 

 

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 150 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
