The Nevada Supreme Court is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy Clerk in Carson City. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the vital work of Nevada’s highest court by supporting the administration of justice and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of court records.

The Deputy Clerk plays an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the Clerk’s Office by processing legal documents, maintaining court records, and assisting attorneys, litigants, and the public. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the administration of justice in an environment that upholds accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to public service.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Clerk performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:

  • Processing and filing incoming and outgoing documents, including new appeals, petitions, records, motions, briefs, proper person documents, and court orders.
  • Entering and maintaining accurate docket entries in the Court’s Case Management System.
  • Prioritizing and distributing incoming documents and orders for timely filing.
  • Docketing emergency petitions and motions and notifying appropriate court personnel.
  • Reviewing proper person correspondence and preparing appropriate responses or assignments.
  • Maintaining and updating party, law firm, and attorney contact information in the Case Management System.
  • Responding to inquiries received by phone and over the counter.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly and other periodic reports.
  • Assisting with scanning, records room duties, mail processing, and other front-office responsibilities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the operations of the Court.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data entry and electronic records management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a legal, clerical, or court environment preferred.
