Marketing Assistant Intern (Nevada Career Studio, Pack Intern, Spring 2026)

**This internship is hosted by the Nevada Career Studio and sponsored by the Nevada Career Studio and ASUN. 

 

Students are highly encouraged to visit the Nevada Career Studio in-person Fridays from 12:00 to 4:00 or use our Virtual Resume + Cover Letter Tune Up service BEFORE applying for these positions. Students are welcome to by any time during our drop-in hours, but we’ll have dedicated staff on Fridays! Resumes and cover letters that do not meet NCS expectations will not be included in applicant packages to employers.

About Nevada Career Studio: 

The Nevada Career Studio serves as the University of Nevada, Reno's centralized career services office. The Studio is here for students and alumni! We provide career/job search help and resources, connections to employers, and programs that create networking and skill-building opportunities! We call ourselves a studio because this is a space where students/alumni make things happen: practice for an interview, hit "send" on a  

job application, meet with an employer, learn how to adapt their resume for the job of their dreams. We want to help students and alumni act on their goals! 

 

Internship Description: 

The Nevada Career Studio is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated University of Nevada, Reno student to support our marketing and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for a marketing, journalism, communications, or related major who is passionate about digital media, writing, event promotion, and engaging with students across campus.  

  

The Marketing Assistant Intern will help grow the visibility and engagement of Nevada Career Studio events and services by writing compelling blog content, supporting social media content creation, conducting campus outreach, and supporting promotional efforts for events such as career fairs, employer panels, and networking mixers. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Create and Manage Digital Content - Write blog posts and develop social media content to promote career development resources and events. 
  • Support Marketing & Design Projects - Assist in designing flyers, digital ads, presentations, and email campaigns using Canva or Adobe tools. 
  • Engage in Social Media & Analytics - Monitor social media platforms, respond to engagement, and use analytics to improve outreach strategies. 
  • Promote and Staff Events - Help promote Nevada Career Studio events and represent the team through tabling and student engagement. 
  • Collaborate on Outreach & Research - Distribute materials across campus, collaborate with student groups, and research marketing strategies for continuous improvement. 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

  • Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total) 
  • Gain real-world marketing and communication experience  
  • Develop a portfolio of blog posts, social media content, and campaign materials  
  • Participate in professional development and networking opportunities  
  • Have a chance to make a tangible impact on your campus community 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring ‘26 semester 
  • Strong written communication skills  
  • Experience with or interest in social media and content creation  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team  
  • Comfortable speaking with peers and campus stakeholders 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Majoring in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field  
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and content creation platforms (e.g. , Online analytics, Canva, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices  
  • Ability to quickly learn and process information  
  • Organization and time management skills 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern:  

Office hours can take place Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm.    

 

PIGP internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
