Data Management Intern (Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, Pack Intern, Spring 2026)

Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada (JANN) is a non‐profit that inspires and prepares youth (K-12) for success in a global economy by delivering volunteer-led programs in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
Internship Description:
The Data Management Intern will play a vital role in supporting JA NNV’s operations by maintaining accurate records, improving data processes, and ensuring the organization has reliable information to measure impact and strengthen community relationships. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit data management, reporting, and operations support.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate records of programs, volunteers, and donors in organizational databases.
- Assist with data cleanup, standardization, and quality checks to ensure consistency.
- Compile and organize program outcome surveys and student impact data.
- Generate basic reports and data summaries for staff, board members, and donors.
- Track volunteer hours, student participation, and fundraising activity.
- Support the development of efficient data processes and documentation.
- Provide administrative support related to data management projects.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Goals:
- Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit data management and operations.
- Support accurate and timely data entry, reporting, and tracking to strengthen JANN’s impact measurement.
- Improve efficiency of internal systems through consistent data organization and cleanup.
- Contribute to program evaluation by compiling and analyzing student, volunteer, and donor engagement data.
- Develop professional skills in attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational processes.
- Expectations:
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time with attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive donor, volunteer, and student information.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor regarding progress and challenges.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
- Collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and other interns as needed.
- Be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and support the mission of JANN
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring ‘26 semester
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new data systems or CRM platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred Degree and/or field of interest: Business, Data Science, Education, Nonprofit Management, or related fields).
- Experience creating and maintaining customer relationship management systems
Desired Schedule for Intern:
- Preferred Monday-Friday between 8:00 and 2:30
- Three four-hour shifts or four three-hour shifts
PIGP internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
