
Trachok Internships - Nevada Arts Council, Arts Community Engagement Intern
Join the Nevada Arts Council’s Community Arts Development and Marketing team and gain hands-on experience in arts administration, research, community outreach, and cultural development. This internship focuses on creating narrative visual and written profiles of arts and cultural organizations, artists and grantees for Nevada’s statewide cultural directories. You will collaborate closely with the Marketing Specialist, gathering images, social media handles, and narrative content by researching grant reports, impact stories, and online resources.
The work will include:
- Updating and maintaining the statewide directories with new, existing, or defunct organizations, artists and grantees.
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data from Nevada Arts Council archives and grant reports.
- Contributing to content development for an online arts and culture directory webpages.
In addition to research, writing, and data management, you will support other projects, such as the Intersection Creativity Conference scheduled in May 2026 and community outreach. There will also be an opportunity to shadow Nevada Arts Council staff at a public arts and cultural event.
The Nevada Arts Council, a division of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, serves as a catalyst to stimulate artistic, creative, cultural, and economic activity across the state. The state art agency’s main goal is to enliven its breadth of communities, ensure lifelong learning in the arts for all Nevadans, and to encourage public and private support for the arts.
The Nevada Arts Council is divided into six programs as accessible portals for our constituents and members of the public alike, Artist Services, Arts Learning, Community Arts Development, Folklife, Grants, and Public Initiatives. Through these program areas, the agency provides grant funding and offers professional assistance to the state’s creative industry. Artists, educators, cultural organizations, and schools benefit from statewide outreach, programming, and initiatives for Nevada residents and visitors.
This internship is ideal for students interested in public service, nonprofit work, arts and humanities, or writing and website data management. You will develop essential skills in research, writing, administration, and cultural analysis, all while making a meaningful contribution to Nevada’s arts community.
Qualifications:
- Art major or minor
- Full-time, degree-seeking student
- Junior or senior standing for undergraduates or graduate students
- 2.75 GPA or higher
Pay: one-time award of $2,250 (120 hour internship at $18.75/hour)
Possibility of hybrid schedule after training.
