About ModestMix Teas:
ModestMix Teas is an edgy and fun tea brand born April 2014. We focus on creating the highest quality organic and fair-trade loose leaf tea blends while also having branding that is hilarious, bold, and unapologetically irreverent. With bestsellers like "Go The F*ck To Sleep" and "Chai F*cking Harder," we prove that earth-friendly doesn't have to be boring—it can be wickedly fun.
Internship Description:
We're looking for a creative, social media-savvy intern who gets that tea doesn't have to be stuffy and marketing doesn't have to be corporate BS. If you've got ideas, love creating content that actually makes people stop scrolling, and want real experience, this is for you.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create scroll-stopping content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and wherever our people are hanging out
- Dream up and execute social media campaigns that match our "give no f*cks" energy
- Stay on top of trends and pitch us your wildest (but workable) ideas
- Help us figure out new ways to get our bad*ss tea brand in front of more people
- Work events like local artisan markets and music festivals—talk to actual humans, and vibe with the community
- Capture killer content at events (because if it's not on Instagram, did it even happen?)
- Dive into analytics and tell us what's working and what's flopping
- Bring fresh eyes to our branding and don't be afraid to challenge the status quo
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Create and schedule 2-5 posts per week across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
- Maintain consistent posting schedule and respond to comments/messages within 24 hours
- Develop at least 2 original content series that align with our edgy brand voice
- Produce 3-5 short-form videos (Reels/TikToks) per month
- Potentially work events with our staff, canoodling with the community
- Hands on work in the "Tea Hive", helping us make and package tea blends
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring ‘26 semester
- No other qualifications needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be comfortable with our irreverent, edgy brand voice and have a sense of humor that matches our vibe.
- Outgoing personality with confidence representing the brand at local artisan markets and music festivals.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend events required.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar content creation tools is a plus.
- Passion for sustainable, earth-friendly businesses and interest in learning hands-on tea preparation in our shop are bonuses.
- No prior tea or event experience required—just creativity, enthusiasm, and willingness to dive in.
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Schedule is very flexible for social media work and can be done off hours. Some shop time will be needed and we are open Mon-Fri 9am-2pm, events are usually on the weekends.
PIGP internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
