Business Operations Specialist

The Business Operations Specialist is the central link between customers, vendors, and the manufacturing team, ensuring that operations run smoothly and customers receive excellent service. This role combines customer/vendor relations, operations coordination, purchasing, logistics, and project management to strengthen efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

This hybrid in-office/remote role includes travel to our manufacturing operation in Mexico, visits to customer and vendor sites across the western U.S., and attendance at trade shows and industry events.

The ideal candidate is business-savvy, highly organized, adaptable, and energized by variety in their work. Experience or interest in the flexographic printing or flexible packaging industry is strongly preferred. A degree in Packaging or related studies will be viewed as a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers and vendors.
  • Enter and manage customer orders; coordinate production scheduling and logistics for on-time delivery.
  • Oversee purchasing and vendor management: issue purchase orders, track deliveries, validate invoices.
  • Manage raw material inventories.
  • Coordinate invoicing for customer shipments.
  • Support new product development projects, including material testing and qualification.
  • Assist with sales quoting for new items.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of the company website and social media presence.
  • Manage projects and process improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions.
  • Participate in trade shows and exhibitions as needed.
  • Take on special assignments and evolving responsibilities as the role grows.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Packaging, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a small business environment.
  • 1+ years in an administrative or operations support role.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service orientation.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the flexographic printing or flexible packaging industry.
  • Degree in Packaging or related technical/business field.
  • 3+ years of experience in small-business operations.
  • 2+ years in operations or administration support roles.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.
