About PBS Reno:

PBS Reno, founded in 1983, is a 501(c)3 community-licensed public television station that broadcasts national PBS programs and award-earning locally-produced content to residents in central and northern Nevada and northeastern California. PBS Reno provides three digital channels of educational programming: PBS Reno (flagship), Reno Create (lifestyle and how-to programming), and PBS Kids Reno. Our website, PBSReno.org, enables viewers to access local programming on-demand across devices. In addition to our broadcast offerings, through pbsreno.org, YouTube, and various social media platforms, our viewers are enabled to access PBS programming and digital-first content on-demand across devices.

PBS Reno’s mission is to “Entertain Your Curiosity”. It is the vision of PBS Reno to provide trustworthy and accessible quality content and educational services that benefit our community. With one of the largest coverage areas in the country, we have developed a broadcast infrastructure of 27 translators. On each of the highest mountain ranges in Nevada, there is a PBS Reno antenna broadcasting America’s most trusted content and PBS Reno originals to underserved rural and tribal communities. PBS Reno broadcasts to households across a 75,000 square mile service area each week and provides coverage to 15 out of the 17 counties in Nevada. PBS Reno reaches over 290,000 viewers each month across our various media platforms.

Beyond broadcasting, PBS Reno provides robust education services, including Curiosity Classroom and our annual PBS KIDS Writers Contest. The Curiosity Classroom program offers free children’s STEM-literacy workshops for PreK-4th grade students. This is the only program in the state that offers hands-on robotics learning for young children. Each workshop provides classrooms with all materials and a trained facilitator.
