Program Intern (Nevada Humanities, Pack Intern, Spring 2026)

**This internship is hosted by Nevada Humanities and sponsored by the Nevada Career Studio and ASUN. 

 

Students are highly encouraged to visit the Nevada Career Studio in-person Fridays from 12:00 to 4:00 or use our Virtual Resume + Cover Letter Tune Up service BEFORE applying for these positions. Students are welcome to by any time during our drop-in hours, but we’ll have dedicated staff on Fridays! About Nevada Humanities: 

Nevada Humanities connects and transforms communities by sharing and amplifying the stories, ideas, experiences, and traditions of the diverse people of Nevada. We produce arts and cultural programming across the state, and we serve as Nevada's affiliate to the National Endowment for the Humanities. Previous Pack Internship Program participants have created their own programs, contributed to our Double Down blog, and gained experience in nonprofit management and arts administration at a statewide organization. 

 

Internship Description: 

The Program Intern will support the assistant director and the program management team to facilitate and produce in-person and online programming for Nevada Humanities, including possible in-person programs in Reno. The Program Intern will also work closely with staff members leading development, communications, and marketing for Nevada Humanities. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with production needs for in-person programming; update project database 
  • Assist with media migration and categorization 
  • Assist with promotional campaigns and graphic design needs 
  • Assist with writing and editing pieces about Nevada Humanities events for social channels and other outlets as required 
  • Attend selected Nevada Humanities events to capture photos and participant data 
  • Assist with writing and design needs for the development team 
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as needed. 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

  • Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total) 
  • Expected to engage regularly with the team, to be proactive and help solve challenges as they arise, to be a self-learner and a team player, and to grow their portfolio of skills over the course of the internship. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Spring ‘26 semester 
  • Proficiency with writing and editing 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace 
  • Basic experience with graphic design 
  • Basic experience with project management 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency with graphic design 
  • Proficiency with project management 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern:  

Applicants must be available to work during our office hours, which are typically between 9 am and 5 pm. 

 

PIGP internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
