Role Roadmap – Viral Marketing & Cultural Moments Lead

Assists.com, one of the fastest growing startups in NYC and started by the founder of Flexport ($5B) has the potential to sit at the center of senior living conversations and the broader culture around aging and caregiving. When a big story about seniors, healthcare, family caregiving, or even a viral cultural moment touches on aging, people should immediately think of Assists—whether to discover real insights about senior living options, explore trends, or engage with content that puts us at the heart of the conversation.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for making Assists top of mind whenever cultural moments, social trends, or viral conversations happen. You’ll dream up and execute large-scale stunts, creative activations, and culturally relevant campaigns that put us at the center of attention. When the next big cultural flashpoint happens—whether it’s a movie like Barbenheimer or a trend like Brat Summer—our audience will know about it through your work.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include

We know no one will excel at every single one of these areas. What matters most is slope, creativity, and execution power.

  • Trend Riding: Spot emerging cultural conversations and memes, and insert Assists into the most relevant and shareable ones—especially those tied to aging, family, and community.
  • Buzz Generation: Build campaigns that earn attention well beyond paid media. The best viral ideas don’t come from big budgets—they come from creativity, scrappiness, and guts.
  • Stunt Development & Execution: Dream up and deliver large-scale, high-impact activations that grab attention and create a cultural footprint. Think unexpected collaborations, pop-ups, or bold campaigns that make senior living impossible to ignore.
  • Social Media Growth: Make our channels entertaining, useful, and addictive. Grow engagement 100x by turning Assists into a cultural voice that people actually want to follow.
  • Earned Media Placement: Get Assists featured in the press, podcasts, and cultural conversations by pitching creative angles and building relationships with journalists and outlets. Make our campaigns newsworthy, not just ad-worthy.

You’re scrappy, resourceful, and comfortable making noise in spaces where others wouldn’t even try. You thrive in fast-moving environments and have a track record of pulling off ideas that others thought were impossible.

  • Proven experience creating and executing stunts or viral campaigns that got noticed.
  • Sharp sense of what’s culturally relevant and what will resonate with the public.
  • A bold, ambitious thinker who aims way beyond what seems safe.
  • Highly proactive and execution-driven—you get things done without being told.
  • Strong creative instinct and willingness to test unconventional ideas.
  • Strong project management and communication skills to juggle multiple campaigns at once.
