Description:
Will review applications for air pollution control permits and registrations and perform calculations of potential emissions of pollutants to determine appropriate emission limits within the framework of the air pollution control regulations and the proper level of control using sound scientific judgment. Will also perform calculations of emissions of greenhouse gases and co-pollutants to support a determination as to whether a project is consistent with the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). Will draft air pollution control permits and registrations based on the review of permit and registration applications, including analyses submitted pursuant to the requirements of the CLCPA. Will conduct field inspections at regulated facilities to determine compliance with regulations and permits. They will also prepare written inspection reports and recommendations of compliance status for supervisor review. Will assist staff and the Office of General Counsel in air enforcement cases. They will also respond to complaints. Will assist in maintaining files, including electronic files, and assist in maintaining the Division of Air Resources database. Will also interact with other DEC staff, regulated facilities, other governmental entities, and the general public.
