We value creativity, curiosity, and purpose-driven work—and we’re building tech that truly helps small businesses globally.
Internship Description:
Use cutting-edge AI to help small businesses grow.
AIJINTSEE is a Reno-based startup building AI-powered tools to help small businesses succeed through smarter, automated digital marketing. Our platform connects to client social media accounts and uses large language models like ChatGPT and Claude to guide content creation, schedule posts, and automate personalized engagement—transforming complex marketing tasks into simple, intelligent workflows.
This is a high-impact, hands-on opportunity to work with a modern tech stack in a fast-moving startup environment. You’ll help shape real production features while learning how generative AI is integrated into scalable systems. You’ll work across React (frontend), FastAPI (backend), PostgreSQL (data), and AI APIs, applying software engineering principles in a live, iterative product environment.
What You’ll Do
- Build and test core features in our web platform (frontend and/or backend)
- Integrate AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and external services (Instagram Graph API, Meta API, Twitter API, etc.)
- Contribute to UI/UX improvements using React, Tailwind, and Figma-based designs
- Engineer and optimize AI workflows that generate and adapt content across multiple client brands
- Build modular systems that repurpose and modify existing content for different small business audiences
- Participate in agile-style sprints with regular check-ins, reviews, and iterative releases
- Write clean, modular, and scalable code across the stack with support and technical feedback
- Explore prompt engineering, task automation, and lightweight ML/data workflows
- Gain exposure to API design, OAuth authentication, system architecture, and AI-agent-style logic
- Contribute flexibly to any technical need AIJINTSEE faces as we grow—from prototyping features to scaling core infrastructure to thousands of clients in 2025 and hundreds of thousands in 2026.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Build and test features in our web-based platform (frontend and/or backend)
- Integrate APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, social media platforms)
- Contribute to user interface improvements and dashboard components
- Write clean, well-documented code and quality check with AI-supported coding platforms (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Replit Ghostwriter,
- Participate in weekly check-ins, product planning, and code reviews
- Help define and test automation workflows using AI-generated outputs
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
The primary goal of this internship is to give the student hands-on experience building real software in a fast-paced, early-stage startup using cutting-edge AI tools. By the end of the internship, the intern will have contributed production-level code, gained experience integrating APIs (such as OpenAI and social media platforms), and developed a deeper understanding of how AI can be used to solve real-world business problems.
Interns are expected to:
- Commit approximately 8–10 hours per week between August 26 and December 5, 2025
- Collaborate with the founder and advisor on product goals and priorities
- Build, test, and refine platform features based on user and business needs
- Write clean, maintainable code and document their work
- Participate in weekly check-ins and code reviews
- Ask questions, offer ideas, and take initiative
We expect interns to bring curiosity, creativity, and a desire to learn—not perfection. This is a startup environment where things move quickly, and we’re looking for teammates who are eager to build and grow.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘25 semester
- Summer ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Basic proficiency in at least one modern programming language (preferably Python or JavaScript)
- Experience working with Git and GitHub (comfortable cloning, committing, pushing, and pulling repositories)
- Familiarity with web development concepts (e.g., what an API is, how frontends and backends communicate)
- Ability to read and write simple functions or components (e.g., Python functions, JavaScript modules, or React components)
- Comfort using online documentation and debugging tools (knows how to Google error messages and check docs like MDN, React, or OpenAI)
- Strong communication and time management skills (can respond to messages, meet deadlines, and ask for help when needed)
- Curiosity about AI and interest in applying it to real-world problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modern web frameworks: React (frontend), FastAPI or Flask (backend)
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools or APIs:OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar
- Comfort with full-stack development: Can navigate frontend/backend integration, even if not an expert
- Understanding of API integration and authentication flows: e.g., OAuth for social media APIs, RESTful endpoints, webhook basics
- Previous personal or academic projects involving AI or automation
- Experience with UI/UX design or Figma (helps contribute to a better user experience)
- Strong self-direction and ability to manage work in a startup setting (e.g., managing ambiguity, proposing ideas, working with minimal oversight)

The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted to fit the student’s academic commitments. Work can be completed during weekdays, evenings, or weekends depending on availability.
We anticipate a rhythm of:
- 1–2 check-ins per week (virtual or in-person)
- Independent project work in between
- Occasional collaborative sessions for testing, demos, or feedback
Remote or hybrid participation is welcome, but local candidates will have the option to meet in person periodically if desired.
