Marketing & Brand Strategy Intern (Pack STEM, MOXIE MOTO, Fall '25)

About MOXIE MOTO: 

MOXIE MOTO is a women’s motorsports apparel startup on a mission to shake up the industry—creating gear that actually fits, performs, and looks good. We’re in a super exciting phase: early-stage, pre-launch, and laying the foundation for a brand that’s bold, community-driven, and built from the inside out. 

  

This internship is hands-on and high-energy. You won’t be assisting—you’ll be building. From shaping our voice and planning content to testing campaign ideas and helping us grow, you’ll get to be part of the real work that brings a brand to life. Fall projects will build off our current roadmap and include content strategy, newsletters, social planning, and campaign experimentation. 

 

Internship Description: 

MOXIE MOTO is seeking a Marketing, Brand Growth & Community Strategist Intern to help develop and execute a strategic marketing plan for an emerging motorsports apparel brand. The intern will gain hands-on experience building a brand from the ground up, with a focus on social media, digital marketing, content strategy, and audience engagement. Projects will include developing messaging frameworks, building a content calendar, planning brand campaigns, and contributing to long-term marketing strategy. The intern will also help support the development of newsletters, email campaigns, and influencer/partner outreach, all tied to business goals. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total) 
  • Develop and manage a strategic marketing plan focused on early-stage brand awareness and long-term growth 
  • Create and maintain a social media content calendar aligned with brand updates and campaigns 
  • Draft and refine email newsletters, including subject lines, content structure, and CTAs 
  • Conduct market and audience research to guide messaging and engagement strategy 
  • Assist with influencer outreach and brand partnerships 
  • Track performance metrics to refine strategy and content execution 
  • Participate in weekly strategy meetings and founder-led planning sessions 
  • Take ownership of campaign concepts, community-building ideas, and creative content development 

 

Goals and Expectations of the Intern: 

Expected to contribute to the development of MOXIE MOTO’s long-term marketing strategy through short- and mid-term content, messaging, and campaign planning. They will take ownership of creative projects that tie directly to real business needs—such as newsletter development, brand messaging, and early-stage campaign ideas. Weekly check-ins and project goals will be structured to support growth in strategy, communication, critical thinking, and real-world execution. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘25 semester  
  • Summer ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program 
  • Strong written communication skills 
  • Interest in marketing, branding, or communications 
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines 
  • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions 
  • Strong organization and attention to detail 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with content creation (social, email, or newsletters) 
  • Basic knowledge of brand voice and tone principles 
  • Familiarity with research and/or campaign planning 
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in startups or women-led businesses 
  • Familiarity with Canva, Google Workspace, or other content tools 

 

Desired Schedule for Intern: 

Flexible schedule with 8-15 hours per week preferred. Intern must be available for a weekly 1:1 check-in and at least one in-person collaboration day per month. Projects will be milestone-based, allowing for some asynchronous work. Most tasks can be completed remotely. 

 

Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
