
Maintenance Technician Lead

In the Maintenance Technician Lead position, you'll oversee the operation and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of corporate buildings, including an onsite data center, event spaces, and fitness facilities. You’ll lead a team in executing preventative maintenance and infrastructure strategies while also being the primary contact for critical systems, service requests, and incidents.

What You’ll Do and Impact:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal customers regarding facilities needs.
- Lead a team to execute daily maintenance operations, assign tasks, and ensure accountability.
- Manage and respond to infrastructure outages; develop and maintain emergency protocols.
- Maintain documentation for critical facility systems, including electrical, HVAC, and generator systems.
- Oversee service schedules, inspections, and repairs for essential building systems.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs, preventative maintenance, and system upgrades.
- Collaborate on the implementation and management of Building Automation Systems.
- Perform and delegate work orders and, when necessary, self-perform maintenance tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts for maintenance operations and infrastructure reliability.
Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years in a direct or indirect people leadership role.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a commercial maintenance environment.
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent ability to lead complex maintenance operations and field cross-functional service requests.
- Experience with vendor negotiation and contract oversight to ensure high-quality and cost-effective facility support.
Additional Items of Interest:
Previous use or knowledge of Niagara, Web-X Building Automation Systems.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude, use hand and power tools, lift 50 pounds.
- Operate freight moving equipment, drive motorized carts.
- Climb 20 ft. ladders.
- Help snow plow and shovel in winter as needed.
- Work 7:00 am to 5:00 pm M-F, plus outside normal hours, including weekends as needed.
- Alternate between sitting, standing and walking.
- Walk outside 1 mile or more daily on paved walkways (extreme weather).
- Work at a computer workstation several times/day.
