Internship Description:
We’re seeking a motivated and curious Technical Sales Engineering Intern who is eager to apply their engineering mindset to real-world sales and marketing challenges. This is a hands-on role that offers mentorship in technical sales, exposure to business strategy, and the opportunity to contribute to client-facing projects that have immediate impact.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Assist in developing technical sales presentations and proposals for B2B clients
- Research target industries and customer segments to identify new opportunities
- Help create technical case studies, and content for outreach
- Analyze data and support the creation of lead generation strategies
- Participate in internal brainstorming, client meetings, and training sessions
- Apply engineering principles to optimize business and marketing processes
- Gain real-world experience in lean startup thinking and sales pipeline development
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
- Real exposure to the challenges and creativity involved in growing a small business
- Valuable experience at the intersection of engineering, marketing, and sales
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘25 semester
- Summer ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Actively pursuing a degree in engineering or a related technical field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing tasks independently
- Driven to learn and grow in the areas of technical sales and business strategy
- Comfortable speaking with others and presenting technical information to diverse audiences
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
- Outgoing, confident, and eager to engage in customer-facing conversations and presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior sales experience is a plus
Desired Schedule for Intern:
- 10 - 15 Hours per week and hours will be flexible to accommodate class schedule.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
