Special Education Teacher, Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe), 2025-26 School Year, Special Education

Job Summary

Under supervision of Special Education Program Administrator, will provide quality education to severely handicapped students, ages 18 months to 22 years, through a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs; a functional, community based curriculum; communication and social skill development; interagency cooperation, and a strong parent-teacher-student linkage. Opportunities exist to develop and experiment with adaptive technology, vocational education, and integration with non-handicapped populations. Does related work as required. The San Joaquin County Office of Education adheres to the provisions of the ADA regarding reasonable accommodation procedures.

Length of Work Year

183 Workdays, Full Time, Monday-Friday

Requirements / Qualifications

A successful candidate must possess a valid California credential or have the ability to secure a California credential. Interns are accepted. This position is represented by the California Teachers Association.
