Sign Fabricator

The Sign Fabricator fabricates and installs signs for use throughout Washoe County; and performs related work as required.

Please note:  Effective July 14, 2025, Washoe County salary schedules and pay rates will be reduced by 1.625% (Regular Members) or 4.375% (Police/Fire Members) due to the PERS contribution rate increase.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of previous full-time experience in road maintenance or construction, road sign fabrication and installation, construction trades, or public works maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

License Or Certificate 

• A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment within this classification.
• A valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) must be obtained within six months of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment within this classification.

 The Ideal Candidate Will

• Have the ability to successfully prioritize workload and work independently.
• Utilize effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exercise sound decision making regarding the use of traffic control devices on streets, highways, bike lanes and private roads open to the public for travel, in accordance to MUTCD standards and guidance.
• Have a familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Signlab and Adobe Acrobat.
• Support the mission of the Community Services Department by providing excellent customer service to the citizens of Washoe County.
