Internship Description:
The Statistics Intern will support our statistics leadership, which may include apply statistical expertise, probability, and combinatorics to design transactional/non-identifiable data for applications/websites/game economics, enhancing tools with Python, cloud, generative AI, and big data for speed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Complete 120 hours of work as an intern (8-15 hours per week, 15 weeks total)
- Design and analyze data
- Enhance and test tools using statistics, Python, cloud, and AI for speed.
Goals and Expectations of the Intern:
Actively contribute to collaborative team projects by applying statistical expertise to design/analyze data and enhance statistical tools for improved efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a degree-seeking student at the University of Nevada, Reno during the Fall ‘25 semester
- Summer ‘25 or earlier graduates are not eligible for the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program
- Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and combinatorics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker), big data, or generative AI is a plus.
Desired Schedule for Intern:
Available for a minimum of one or more 4-hour shifts weekday afternoon or weekend that lined up with other interns in the cohort.
Pack STEM internships require interns to complete 120 hours during their internship. It is the intern’s responsibility to ensure this requirement is met.
